You love each other. But lately, it feels harder to find each other.

Maybe you keep having different versions of the same argument. One of you reaches for connection while the other pulls away. Small disagreements become bigger than either of you intended, or you have stopped talking about the hard things altogether.

You likely still care deeply about each other and just wonder how you became so disconnected.

Couples therapy can help you slow down the patterns happening between you, understand what is underneath them, and begin finding your way back to each other.

When the problem starts to feel bigger than either of you

You might be coming to couples therapy because:

  • Communication keeps breaking down

  • The same arguments happen over and over

  • You feel more like roommates than partners

  • One of or both of you feels unseen, unheard, or misunderstood

  • Trust has been damaged

  • Sex or physical intimacy has changed

  • Stress, work, illness, or family responsibilities are affecting your relationship

  • You are navigating different identities, beliefs, or values

  • You love each other but are not sure how to move forward

You do not need to wait until your relationship is falling apart to ask for help. Get started on couples therapy today and start addressing these issues together as a team!

The goal isn’t to figure out who is right.

Couples therapy gives us space to understand what happens between you.

Instead of getting caught in who started the argument or who needs to change, we can slow things down and look at the patterns underneath the conflict, while working to cultivate genuine curiosity and meaningful connection in the relationship.

What are each of you trying to communicate? What happens when you feel hurt, rejected, criticized, overwhelmed, or afraid of losing connection? What experiences are each of you bringing into the relationship?

As those patterns become clearer, you can begin responding to each other differently. And when the patterns are already clear, we can start with learning new tools to come to the relationship differently, fostering exciting new ways and spaces to be yourselves and connect authentically without losing yourselves to old patterns.

Therapy can help you communicate more honestly, repair after conflict, rebuild trust, deepen emotional and physical intimacy, and feel more like partners again.

Couples/relationship therapy that makes room.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and grounded in curiosity rather than blame.

I welcome couples (or polyamorous relationships) across genders, sexual orientations, relationship structures, and backgrounds. I also understand that relationships do not exist in a vacuum. Trauma, chronic illness, religious experiences, identity, family, culture, work, and stress can all shape how we connect with the people we love.

You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong or how to fix it. Of, if you do arrive knowing exactly what is wrong and how to fix it, therapy creates a space to get curious, to re-examine what you already know, to develop new tools, and honor your true self and the one(s) you are in relationship with without abandoning yourself.

That is something we can begin figuring out together.
